Business Finland has started a six-year program called Decarbonized Cities in 2023. The goal of the program is to improve Finland’s long-term competitiveness and increase exports by encouraging companies to develop internationally successful solutions for the carbon-neutrality challenges of selected partner cities. The largest challenges in urban environments are related to the built environment, energy, and traffic. In the future, solutions will operate more and more as one integrated system. Cities in Finland and abroad will have a role as testing and reference platforms, and cities will engage in long-term ​​research and business relationships.
